Our Story

In June of 2021, devastating rain hit the metro Detroit area, resulting in widespread flooding. It was heartbreaking to see the devastation and loss across our community. Many of our friends and neighbors in the community experienced significant losses. After hearing their stories and feeling their frustration, we felt compelled to do something, and the idea of the Mercer Agency was born.

Our Team

Tom Mercer – Agent/Owner

Tom is a licensed personal and commercial Agent and the founder of Mercer Agency PLLC. He began a career in the insurance industry in 2022 after feeling called to do something to make a meaningful difference and establish deeper roots in the community. Before launching Mercer Agency, Tom enjoyed a lengthy and successful career in the athletic footwear, apparel, and equipment industry with market-leading global brands adidas and Riddell. When not at the office or working with clients, Tom enjoys spending time with his wife and four adult children, coaching Basketball at Grosse Pointe South High School, and is actively involved in local community organizations.
